8 de Março, dia Internacional da Mulher. E tantas são as mulheres que adoro e amo. Mãe, irmã, família, amigas. Exemplos de força, fontes de inspiração.

Mas é importante falar de algo mais. Nos dias de hoje assistimos por esse mundo fora a uma tremenda violação dos direitos humanos.

Assistimos ao desvendar de vários crimes cometidos contra mulheres, alguns guardados em segredo durante anos. Assistimos a uma consciencialização quanto ao que é ou não aceitável. Assistimos, uma vez mais - ou pura e simplesmente à continuação de uma luta -, à mulher a ganhar voz.

Todo o ser humano precisa de inspiração, de algo que o motive, uma vontade, um sonho. A algum lado vamos buscar a força para lutarmos pelo que queremos. 

Temos mulheres que são verdadeiros exemplos de vida e também homens que as/nos inspiram. Porque somos humanos! Os sonhos e vontades não conhecem géneros nem sexos. Todos somos dotados dos mesmos direitos, DEVEMOS ter oportunidades iguais! Por que diabo haverá isso de ser diferente? E acima de tudo, sermos respeitados. Tratados como seres humanos que somos.

Um decote não é um convite. A obtenção de uma vaga ou o subir na carreira são fruto do trabalho da pessoa, do esforço, dedicação e experiência de cada um. Por mérito. 

E vocês pensam "mas vais dizer alguma coisa que eu ainda não saiba?". Não, não vou e, tal como muitas pessoas por esse mundo fora, vou continuar a referir-me a estes aspetos. Porque continuam a ter uma triste realidade. Há determinadas coisas que temos de ouvir vezes e vezes sem conta para que finalmente nos entrem na cabeça, comecemos a pensar e a refletir sobre elas. 

Falamos de feminismo - desenganem-se os que pensam que nos referimos ao oposto de machismo, trata-se de igualdade de direitos -, de crimes, de violação de direitos, mas há alturas em que parece que fica tudo "no ar". Ninguém ouve realmente. 

Falamos, mas é preciso atuar. Não basta falar. É preciso incentivar e educar. Raparigas e rapazes. A não desistirem do que pretendem, a respeitar o próximo. A torna-los melhores pessoas. 

Não é possível chegar a todos, não. Basta que a diferença seja feita na vida de  uma pessoa, de uma criança, de um jovem. A partir daí, teremos uma espécie de efeito dominó. Estejam atentos ao que vos rodeia. Um dia percebemos que algo mudou. Está nas pequenas coisas. 

O dia é da mulher. Obrigada às minhas a todas as que, em algum momento, cruzaram a minha vida e me ensinaram alguma coisa. 

As pessoas vão, mas fica o que nos ensinam.

Respeitem-se, amem-se a vocês próprios, não precisam de aprovação de ninguém.  Serão mais felizes.

8th March, International Woman’s day. And there are so many women I adore and love. Mom, sister, family, friends. Examples of strength, inspiring.

But it's important to talk about something more. Nowadays we see human rights being violated, all around the world. 

We realize how many crimes against women have been committed, and some of them, silenced for years. We get conscious of what is and isn’t acceptable. We see, once again – or maybe just the continuation of a fight -, woman gaining a voice.  

Every human being needs inspiration, something to keep the motivation going, a will, a dream. We need to get the strength to do it from somewhere.

We know women that are great life examples and also men that inspire them/us. Because we are all humans! Will and dreams don’t know gender nor sex. We all have the same rights, we SHOULD have equal opportunities! Why the hell should it be different? Above it all, we should be respected. Treated like the human beings we are.

A cleavage is not an invitation. Getting a vacant job or a promotion it’s due to the person’s effort, dedication and experience. It’s due to merit.

And now you are thinking “but are you going to tell me something that I still don’t know?”. No, I am not, and like so many people around this globe, I’ll keep talking about the same aspects. Because this is still a very sad reality that we live in. there are certain things that we need to hear over and over again, in order to finally listen, to start thinking and meditate on them.

We talk about feminism – you are wrong if you think this is the opposite of chauvinist, it’s about equal rights -, crimes, rights being violated, but there are certain times when it feels like nobody really listens.

We talk, but we need to act. It’s not enough to talk. We need to encourage, to educate. Girls and boys. So they won’t give up on what they want, so they can respect others. For them to become better persons.

It’s not possible to get to everyone, it’s not. It’s enough that a difference is made in one person’s life. Then we will have some kind of domino effect. Be aware of what surrounds you. One day you'll realize that something is different, it’s in the small things in life.

This day belongs to women. Thank you to all of my women and to all of the others that in some moment crossed my life and taught me something. People come and go, but not what they teach us.

Respect yourselves, love yourselves, you don’t need anybody’s approval. You’ll be happier.
